Coreen Pickering and Duncan Smith took ownership of Ship Shore in the Winter of 2019. They
reside in Kensington year-round, with their daughter Stella. The duo has worked side by side for
many years. Together, they have conquered countless weddings, catering events, and corporate
functions. They believe in supporting local, by having PEI beers on tap, and using fresh
ingredients from our island.

Coreen graduated with her business diploma and has held many jobs during that time. She has
developed many long-standing relationships with her clients and co-workers. She was the former
manager of Broadway 45 and Sales and Events specialists at Clinton Hills Wedding and Event
Venue. Coreen is very detail orientated, and make sure each and every detail is meet with every
client. During her down time, she enjoys volunteering with local groups, such as Chamber of
Commerce, girl guides and QEES Home and School Board. She has recently been re-elected to
council and appointed deputy mayor.

Duncan received his Red Seal certification in 2005 after he completed his studies at the culinary
institute of Canada. After working in some of the top restaurants on PEI. Several of Chef
Duncan’s recipes have been published in both local and national cookbooks. He is most known
for his award winning “Just like dads seafood chowder”. In 2007, Chef Duncan was the first
Island chef to ever win the Seafood Chowder Competition in the history of the Annual Shellfish
Festival.

Chef Duncan was in the spotlight in 2006, on NBC’s “1st look”, The Emmy award winning
lifestyle show that takes you to North America’s hottest destinations for amazing eats, thrilling
adventures and fun nightlife. Duncan was part of the 1st Look NBC program featuring PEI Fall
Flavours Clinton Hills pig roast.

All of the ingredients we use here at The 
Ship to Shore  are just that: local. We stock our restaurant kitchen in much the same way that we stock our home kitchen, with daily deliveries of fresh local ingredients that we select ourselves. 

In addition to our menu items, we also offer daily specials inspired by seasonal ingredients, the weather and how we are feeling. We are always on the lookout for new sources of ideas and inspiration, so when we travel the world  we bring back our favorite flavors and culinary discoveries.
